Privacy and Child Data Protection
The app is designed for guardians. It collects only what is needed for picturebook age-fit assessment and explains AI processing, storage, and deletion controls clearly.
Data Minimization
Child profiles only need age, reading mode, literacy level, interests, and sensitive-topic preferences. The app does not require real names, school details, contact information, or child photos.
In anonymous mode, child profiles, uploaded materials, and reports are tied to the current browser session cookie. Other browsers or devices do not see this data by default.
Picturebook images and report JSON are stored separately. Reports can be deleted from history, and this page lets guardians remove all data for the current session.
AI Usage
Production assessment can use today's leading frontier multimodal AI models to understand picturebook text, OCR, and page images together, then combine that understanding with child reading-development rules.
Model calls happen on the server only, so API keys are never exposed in the browser. The system can be upgraded to the strongest stable model available as model capabilities improve.
AI output is checked by low-evidence, non-picturebook, and sensitive-topic rules. If evidence is weak, the report will not present a high-fit recommendation.
Assessment results support family reading decisions only and are not developmental, psychological, medical, or educational diagnoses.
Guardian Controls
You can assess books with an anonymous profile and without entering a child's real identity. You can also delete child profiles, reports, and uploaded images under this browser session at any time. Before public launch, the service will add guardian consent, terms, privacy policy, third-party AI processing notices, and retention rules.
